READING/LITERATURE
Hooked on Phonics 1st Grade Level - He completed page 59 of 62 in the Red Book. The red book is the 2 of 2 in this series. He is one book away from finishing Hooked on Phonics.
We stress writing and sounding out words as he writes, so writing is coming easier. Trevor is improving use of capitalization, spaces between words and ending punctuation.

Reading Eggs Trevor is on lesson 68.
I read to him both Twenty-Ten and The Hundred Dresses.
MATH
Trevor is on lesson 61 in Right Start Math.
In Dreambox he has completed 89 lessons.
He has only 11% of one quarter of Kindergarten level to finish the Kindergarten curriculum.
Math covered clocks, counting coins, and addings tens and the nines trick.
SCIENCE
We began using Science Fusion curriculum just this month and Trevor completed units 1, 2 and 3.
Trevor does weekly hand-on projects through his "Mad Science" class at co-op and Science Club. He studied sound, spring water evaporation and condensation.
We watch: Magic School Bus on butterflies and ants.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We use Brain Pop Jr. in addition to books for this studying Rights and Responsibilities, Community Helpers, Reading Maps, Saving and Spending .
HEALTH
Trevor completed 20 of 60 pages in the Harcourt Health and Fitness book.

Hooked on Phonics 1st Grade Level - He completed page 26 of 62 in the Red Book. The red book is the 2 of 2 in this series. He is LOVING reading and not loving writing, but we do the writing anyway. He is about 3/4's the way through this curriculum. Explode the Code Book 2 He is on page 52 of 94. Reading Eggs Trevor is on lesson 60. We use BrainPop Jr. here and Trevor tested through: • Rhyming words • Long A • Silent E Trevor is halfway through a lapbook called "About Me."
MATH
Trevor is on lesson 49 in Right Start Math. He practiced 6 math facts speed tests and improved on most. He is using the backside of the abacus well and understanding trading and the match balance equations with the balance beam. We use Dreambox. He has completed 71 lessons He has only 37% of one quarter of Kindergarten level to finish the Kindergarten curriculum. We also use BrainPop Jr. math videos. This month he tested through • Basic Parts of a Whole • Slides, Turns and Flips • Calendar and Dates • Time to the Hour • Parts of Clock • Counting Coins

Wild Places Usborne Book Magic Schoolbus on water cycle We use BrainPop Jr.: • Lungs • Digestive System • Plant Life Cycle • Solids, Liquids, and Gases • Physical and Chemical changes • Landforms • Science Projects Trevor does weekly hand-on projects through his "Mad Science" class at co-op and Science Club. He studied kinds of energy, senses, hearing, affects of force and friction and gravity, 3 types of rocks, and measurements. We watch: Magic School Bus on gravity, wetlands, cells, planets, and electricity We Experiment: Trevor experimented with water beads and did an evaporation/condensation study at home.

HEALTH
Using BrainPop Jr. we studied • Food Groups • Sugar • Eating Right • Being Responsible • Fire Safety • Bullying • Internet Safety Trevor learned several more skills in gymnastics including still rings and uneven bars. His coaching has improved at Gem State and he responds well to it. Trevor is setting a 15 minute mile goal for our First Annual Unsanctioned Swan Sprint.
